Yay! Downhill Now...
I've spent some time today rebuilding my template. I say rebuilding as I started off just tweaking the CSS but in order to resolve some IE display troubles with my Archive widgets I completely rewrote the CSS used to display the archive widgets. All better now.
I simplified how I'm using the archive widgets too. I had previously used the "flat" archive state on the main blog page but now I'm using the "toggle" archive state. The "flat" display was getting rather long. Three years, archived weekly, gets displayed as 156 lines. The "toggle" archive expands.
I floated the archive widgets and inserted some CSS into the archive widget XML to maintain my design. It expands and does not break with the various toggle states. Still using two archives. One on the main page and the other on the archive pages. Both are now display exactly the same and use the same CSS even though in my template code they are unique. I like having archive pages.
A few items left but the nitty gritty stuff is done.
My remaining tweaks are:
Remove post number count from archive widgets.
Fix archive page text widget.
Update sidebar graphics.
Downhill now!
