Went back again tonight after shooting Saturday night. Did the conservatory - less crowded tonight.

Cool - I can float widgets side by side

I've restored blogrolls! Way cool and I did it right rather attempting to force a solution. Went way beyond my old blogroll setup via bloglines. I'm using two "bloglist" widgets from Blogger and then I floated, using css, the two bloglist widgets in my sidebar.

I was having huge troubles floating Blogger's widgets. I could do it, but when it came to clearing the floats I was fighting the Blogger's XML. A float clear is just an element and when placed into an XML template it should be treated as such. It's weird and it took some logic to finally see where I should clear the float.

Now I can do split column layout and then split the sidebar into columns if I so desire! With blogger's XML! Pretty cool and it's nice to finally jump this creek. Of course my sidebar has all kinds of other split column hacks going on but my blogroll widgets are the correct way to float widgets.

I was a little saddened when I peeked over at Blogger's layout page elements to see that all my struggle with floats and columns was not reflected in the widget layout.

Heh* I beat the UI :-)

Rain - It's Raining

And it keeps turning up sunshine! It's raining so today's photo safari has been canceled which is good as I now have the day to work on my template. Oh yeah, I'm playing with HTML, CSS and the dreaded Blogger XML. Making good progress so far.
