Ye Olde Diopter Test shots
I say old as the diopters I have are probably early 80s vintage. Vivitar, glass, 52mm thread. A +1, +2 and a +4. I can use them separately or in combination as they each share the same 52mm thread. I mount the diopters on the 52mm adapter I got from lensmate for my Canon s5is. That's the skinny on my diopter, close-up lenses.
The test shots... (I'm not happy with these, btw.)
The +2 diopter only
The +4 diopter
The +1 and +2 combined
The +1 and +4 combined
The +1 +2 +4 combined
We have magnification! Focus is tough while hand held. Depth of field is wacky thin. What disappoints though is the fringing my camera exhibits with each increase in magnification. I set up in direct sun and picked a shiny object... I do now have good notion of the distance required between camera and subject. Practice will make perfect but it's going to take a while to work these lenses into my photos. I do like the working distance of the lenses used separately. +1 and +2 combined is also good. Close but my lens is not right on the subject. The +4 seems to be the unwieldy lens when combined with the other two. All combined is very tough to use and the fringing becomes extreme. A good test to start out with.
