Sunday - Wrap

Great weekend. Good photos, food and all sorts of unexpected, impromptu happenings. I'm feeling rather bloated as I grilled for seven this afternoon. Finally met my cousin's boy. Nice kid.

Struck out on my quest to photograph the letter E. It's on the top of my list now because I defeated myself. Blew a shot. I'll get it this week. Weather looks to be favorable early this coming week.

I resisted the temptation to tinker with this template or the other one. I do have some needed tweaks to make here. Not going to rush those as it's been nice just to blog. I need to find me a widget for the side bar! And I don't wanna use the Flickr one.

Speaking of Flickr, it's not going to become part of Microsoft. I was dreading the thought of having to move 2000 plus photos to a new image host out of fear or reality. I did do some looking and the photo hosting landscape is a changing. SmugMug or a thing called PhotoShelter have the most appeal to me as alternatives to Flickr. Hopefully Yahoo can set it's own straight course as they've been good to me.

Still after my experience with AOL I try to keep an eye on good solid alternate online services in case the ones I'm using start making poor consumer choices. Part of my jump to Wordpress for my new photoblog was I sorta felt too Google bound. I'm pretty frustrated with Blogger's xml to a point but I also have no desire to get caught up in another corporate direction wind shift.

I'm keeping this blog on Blogger but I am keeping an eye on Google's advertising moves particularly since they've become interested in targeted and display advertising. Worrisome technologies each. Not a fan of either.
