Holy Crap! A Snake! A Water Snake!
(continued) My first Pennsylvania snake! Lot of firsts lately but this was an unexpected bonus for getting to Longwood early. Once the paths get foot traffic, these guys disappear. No idea on the type but it had no fear of me! Good snake. I photographed the snakes food chain. Tadpoles and a mature frog.
Spent time in the meadow. No large butterflies but I did see some moths. Photographed them but nothing came of the effort. Spotted a gray hairstreak butterfly but it would not give me an angle. After the meadow I wandered up to the conservatory. Flowers along the way.
Photographed bees as well this morning. I'll get those posted sometime this coming week. Great day with the camera. Wild light. I'm getting quick with the new lens. And comfortable using it. I need to now mess with the diopters. I'm having fun with the long lens though so going microscopic seems dull. Need to find the right subject for the close-up lenses.
Don't miss the fawn I photographed this evening as it too is a first!
Have a great week ahead!
