Round Robin Challenge: Going Going Gone!

Flag at Sunset
For Going, Going, Gone. I really do feel the USA is going, going and nearly gone. Explains all the droopy flags I've been photographing lately. I don't much notice the loud wind flappers anymore but the limp flags do get my attention. I see them as symbolic of the course this country has taken with the wars and the associated political nonsense. It's still the flag just the symbol seems to have run out of natural wind. Stagnation.

See how the rest of the Round Robin Players portrayed Going, Going, Gone. Nancy - Nancy Luvs Pix, Carly - Ellipsis, Lisa - Lisa's Chaos, Karen - Outpost Mâvarin, Sandra - Strong Chemistry, Kim - Nekked Lizard Adventures, Julie - Julie's Web Journal, Gattina - Keyhole Pictures, Janet - fondofphotography, Chrissea - Chris-seas Corner, Suzanne R - Living . . . Suzanne R's Life.

Stop by the Round Robin Photo Challenge blog for updates and details on the next challenge.

The last photo challenge of 2007! I'd like to thank both Karen and Carly for bringing me on board as a host this past year. Been a lot of fun, a little stressful at times, but we made it! Thanks ya'll :-)

:::Sigh:::

Sadly, so very true. :( Poignant approach to the challenge. I am in full agreement. Hopefully the future will save old glory.

Battered and bruised, it's just taking a breather ready for the challenges of 2008......and I've enjoyed all your challenges, thank you :)

Pickles approves of the lap top, a cats approval is worth a thousand yeahs!!

I'm sorry for the tiger, we forget they're wild at heart, mesmerised by their intense beauty. Thoughts for the families and her.

Wow. That's an extraordinary (and sad) photo, as as political an entry as I've ever seen from you. But Election Year is coming, and sometimes a flag is just a flag. There's hope for the country yet!

What a wonderfully evocative shot. The second I saw it, I knew exactly what you meant to say. Maybe it's because I've been feeling the same sense of despair over the state of the nation these last few years.

Hi Steven,

I LOVE the photo - and agree with you wholeheartedly. Love the birds on a wire too!
A favorite bumper sticker of mine states:
2008 - "End of an Error"
ie: End of an era!

Wow, deep. I wasn't expecting deep. Makes me pause and be sad.

Moving take on the challenge.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you on the sentiment. Great picture, of course.
