Anole Hunting Dragonflies

Anole Hunting
Yesterday I mentioned that I wanted to photograph a lizard eating a dragonfly. I'm getting closer to that goal I think. I found this female anole hunting for dragonflies right on one of the most favored perches. Great spot for a dragonfly to land. Now I just need to be there when the lizard meets the dragonfly. Not today.

Cunning predators, great shot.......but I secretly wish you get a shot where she just manages to lick the dragonfly with her long tongue rather than eat it. The one that got away :) but for one missed there must be many eaten. Tis life :)

Yesterday, just yesterday, I ran across the very scene you wished for! I've some pics.

It happened right in front of my home in Puerto Rico. There was the lizard (lagartijo as we call them here) clamping on the unfortunate dragonfly, who was still alive. The lizard dragged the dragonfly up the wall, last I saw either of them. It was quite the unusual sight.
