Dragonfly with Contrail

Dragonfly
From last Saturday as I'm fed up with the rain. Such frustrating conditions to shoot in, but the weather system responsible for all the clouds is finally moving off. All I managed today were some photos of the rising waters and not very interesting waters at that. I should be back to sunshine by Thursday.

My plans for the holiday are still in the tentative zone. My brother has canceled and my sister with her kids has rescheduled her arrival for tomorrow evening. We will get a couple days in once she does arrive. The weather and the midweek date certainly have put a damper on plans plus it may very be raining tomorrow.

Finished reviewing a few "how to shoot fireworks" articles. I pretty much follow this advice, focus set to infinity while using shutter priority (AV). F 5.6 works and I let the camera pick the shutter speed. I like light trails, so ISO 50. I sometimes use my camera's self timer to trigger the shutter to minimize camera shake even though I will be using my tripod. A fair sense of timing usually does the trick.

Hope you have a good fourth!
