Houston Zoo birds
Up today are the birds I saw at the Houston Zoo. Carly is guest hosting Feline Friday so look to her blog for the cats tomorrow. I'm saving my zoo lion and tiger photos for tomorrow.

In the children's zoo is a small aviary you can walk through. I thought it was populated with parakeets until this guy landed right next to me. I think people sneak food to these birds as it was very interested in me for a moment.

An Egret at the Zoo. I see this type of Egret often in Houston but they are very shy in the wild. This one is a rescue bird and can't fly. I like how it's feet are submerged.

Same aviary as the first photo. There are about a dozen of these in the pen. I think it's some kinda parrot or parakeet.

This is a beautiful entry. That first bird is breathtaking. Is that a Cardinal? I really love the Egret looking into the water. Truly, that one should be on a note card. I came by last night, and really, I just stopped and looked at it for the longest time. It's just that pretty. :)
The third photo is of a Quaker (Monk) Parrot. They make nests very different from other parrots.
