Chrysalis Watch

Monarch Chrysalis
Something is happening with the second monarch chrysalis I've been watching. This morning the wing was not visable and by the afternoon I could see wing. With the one that just emerged, I never saw any wing color. My guess is very soon.

Always in the morning. I'd love to get a shot of the monarch leaving the chrysalis. Photographed everything else except that event. If it happens tomorrow, I'll have a chance. I've been so close twice now. I know I missed the most recent by minutes. No idea how long it takes for a monarch to struggle free. Five, ten minutes maybe?

I have no idea either but I certainly wish you luck in catching the event. I know if I had the opportunity, I would be watching very, VERY closely/

Help! 19 Chrysalis ready to emerge...
I saved 23 caterpillar stage monarch-to-be butterflies, I hope. 19 of them are in the late stages of chrysalis' (only 4 did not make it). My problem is that they all pupated on the lid on the same side of the aquarium.
When they begin to emerge, and dry their wings, won't they be a little crowded all on that same side? I really have little experience with this other than a good heart. We have had several of these things that we brought home from the state fair when the kids were little, and they did go through all the stages.
Any advice for me for when these things start "coming out".
